Ben Dunn is destined for competitive greatness. Growing up the son of premier Australia surf coach Martin Dunn, Ben's childhood was spent trading blows with some of the nation's finest professionals and it¡¦s safe to say that he's picked up a thing or two. One of the most technically precise 21 year olds on the planet, Dunn has amassed a wealth of competitive accolades in all conditions. Last season, Ben put together a solid year on the 'QS to finish 9th with an impressive win at the WQS four star Hyuga Pro presented by Billabong in Japan. Although easily making the cut off for this year's Dream Tour, some speculated that the youngster may suffer the same problem that several rookies struggle with at the elite level of competition. However, lack of experience will not be a problem for the young man from New South Wales. Primary sponsor Rip Curl was kind enough to extend Dunn a wildcard into both the Bells event and Mexico event in '06, and the stylish natural footer dished out losses to veteran competitors Jake Paterson and Trent Munro in good form. Ben¡¦s incredible talent and sharp competitive mindset will set him apart from his fellow rookies, and he has all the tools to become a fixture on the Foster's ASP World Tour for many years to come.
